Pauper apprentices in England were the children of paupers who were bound out by the local parish Overseers of the Poor and Churchwardens, to a would be master taking onan apprentice. This meant the parish did not need to support the child and the master got some cheap labour. This indenture is between the Overseers of the Poor and Church Wardens of offerdenden in Kent and Richard Shoebridge, bricklayerof Benenden ( a neighbouring village).
