This is a beautiful 19th century Victorian ecclesiatic banner made from printed and gilded cotton. It has a wooden support across the top for hanging, it has 2 gold metal tassles, the middle tassle is missing. It is heavily gilded, a superb quality item, beautifully printed with latin inscriptions. It may be measures about 1.73 meters/68" by about 54 cms/21.5" and weighs about 200g.
The condition is very good overall, just some minor wear commensurate with age, much of the gilding has worn away on the dagged bottom, but the rest is lovely, a very fine piece for use or display. Thank you for looking.

Welcome to Morgaine Le Fay Antique Textiles, a treasure trove of antique and vintage textiles maintaine by vanye90. I am an obsessive collector of beautiful fabric and other textiles, I love pattern, colour and texture, and this is reflected in the stock I buy. I love the 'shabby chic' look where the patina of age and use are celebrated, as well as the more utilitarian Shaker style and the pretty country cottage look, and always carry stock that would work well with these types of interiors.
I source antique fabrics, linens, lace, embroideries, passementerie trims, ribbons, gold and silver metal threads and much much more. I have a fondness for French textiles, and you will find plenty here. I also look out for wonderful antique and vintage curtains, they have so much more character than newly bought ones.
I am always more than happy to put together project packs for customers containing certain types of fabric or haberdashery, for example antique French tickings, florals etc, or different types of ribbon/lace. If you are on the look-out for anything specific, why not contact me, I may be able to help.
I constantly update my listings, adding a few more things most days, so please save me to your favourite seller list, and check back often, I may have just what you are looking for!
Please note that most of my items are antique or vintage, and show signs of age as noted on the listings. they will not look pristine and new, if this is what you are looking for, my listings may not be what you are looking for.
I am always mote than happy to combine postage for multiple items where possible, this can often lead to a substantial reduction.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, vanye90.
