Up for sale is a Pennsylvania Keystone Solid Brass antiquepaperweight. On front it says:

1744 - MARKETSTREET - PHILADA. - SHANNON & CO - HARDWARE .

Thepaperweight is solid brass and measures 2 3/8 by 2 1/2 by 7/8 at their widestpoints.

Research located other similar paperweights in pastsales, but they were not made of brass, were in block lettering and allreferenced the script “Contractors” instead of Hardware. This may be an olderversion.

Overall paperweight is in good condition for its age but does have scratchesand some small nicks as seen in pictures. Has a beautiful patina. The paper weight can be easily cleaned and polished for ashiny antique furniture restoration look, but there are those who want to maintainthe antiquity and current condition so we are leaving restoration decision upto you.
