18" Rita Hayworth 1940s Chalkware Store Display Flexees Corsees Bra Lingerie For Sale

This is an absolutely stunning example of a mid-century ( 1940s ) advertising store display in chalk that resembles Rita Hayworth, but it could also be Marilyn Monroe when she was Norma Jean and before the bleached hair or maybe Dorothy L'amour...??. It measures about 18" tall and it is about 6 1/4" wide at its widest point (its round base). The gorgeous starlet is cast in plaster/chalk and painted in period colors with a posey in her hair which is so characteristic of the time and for Hayworth She is dressed in a Salmon colored satin dress with a similar colored netting shawl and a netting flounce that covers her skirt. Unfortunately, time has shown itself on this lovely piece of chalkware and it has some nicks and one bad damaged place -- that her dress naturally covers. Her beauty is not marred because the dress covers the worst part, and her leg, that is covered is also cracked........MAKE NO MISTAKE, this piece is lovely and ever so rare, but it does have a few issues. YOU SIMPLY MUST check out the numerous pictures that I have provided not only in the body of the sale but also at the beginning as well. She is absolutely lovely!!!
