This is an authentic original European OIL painting done around 1900 and purchased in Paris in the 1980s from an established Paris art dealer whom I came to know through sales at Hotel Druot. It\'s an attractive scene by a listed painter and guaranteed to be the real thing, not some recent copy. I don\'t know exactly what the location of the painting is but understand Fues was an Austrian and the scene seems almost certainly the Alps. The size is approximately 10 x 12 for the painting itself and 15 x 17 in the frame. The frame is elaborate and very nice, quite suitable for the period and this piece. No sign of restoration or repair of the painting and the frame is also in good condition. I am selling because this was originally purchased for my large house but I\'ve recently moved to a small apartment in New York so it really cannot be displayed as well as I\'d like. The painting can be examined in New York.
