Offered for sale is this wonderful antique English pitcher with a satirical cartoon of John Bull and Napoleon. The cartoon is from 1803, the original engraving is at Oxford University, you can see it this pitcher dates from the same time period. The pitcher is made of the hybrid porcelain the English were making around 1800. The cartoon is titled \"John Bull guarding the toy shop, or Boney crying for some more play things\". Please excuse the reflections in the pictures.The pitcher is approximately 7.25 inches tall, and is just under 8.5 inches long from handle to spout.It is in overall excellent condition for its age. There are some rubs to the gold on the handle and the rim, some scratches to the glass, a few stray lines of crazing, and a spider in the bottom. The image looks wonderful as you can see.
