Publication Date: 1811 Publisher: Trenton: Printed and Sold by James J. Wilson Author: Ramsay, David Binding: Original bindings of full calf leather. Burgundy leather spine labels, a bit soiled but fully present. Volume numbers in gilt ovals stamped to spines. Gilt bands and decorative devices, though a bit dulled. Bindings are solid. Volumes measure 8 1/2" x 5 3/8". Non-decorative endpapers, which are free from Ex Libris plates. Previous owner's dated signature in iron-gall ink on free endpaper. Description: Complete in 2 volumes. Uniform toning to text. Foxing. 455; 460pp. The second volume includes the four page, three columned, Subscriber's List. Originally bound edition of Ramsay's celebrated history, originally published in Philadelphia in 1789. As a historian and public figure, Ramsay made an important contribution to events in America. His service as a military surgeon resulted in imprisonment at St. Augustine for a year after the capture of Charleston. All merchandise shipped within the United States will be shipped via FedEx Ground, insured, unless otherwise stated. FedEx does not ship to p.o. boxes, and so any shipment to a p.o. box will be sent via USPS media mail. Overseas shipments will be sent either USPS Express Mail or Priority Mail International. International surface mail is no longer offered. Combined shipping is always available.

All of our domestic shipments will be automatically UPGRADED from UNINSURED PARCEL POST MAIL to FULLY INSURED FEDEX GROUND SHIPPING. So although the shipping calculator shows USPS Parcel Post, you will be receiving your package via FedEx Ground. However if a po box address is provided, the shipment will be sent Parcel Post since FedEx will only deliver to street addresses.
