A very scarce early Nineteenth Century limitededition of this Sixteenth Century medical volume, written by physician Andrew Borde.

Borde was a noted figure in medicine during his era, with this volume in particular becoming extremely popular and deemed one of the first medicalguidebooks in history.

This is an unspecified number in a printing of one hundred and twenty.

CONDITION

In decorative half-morocco binding with gilt detailing and paper-covered boards. Externally, the front board is detached but present, and there is wear to the boards, joints, extremities and backstrip. Internally, the pages are firmly bound and are largely bright and clean, although there are some instances of spotting and offsetting, as well as age-toning to endpages. There is also the remnants of a institutional labelto front free endpaper and a bookplate to pastedown.Overall: FAIR
