Recognize this reverse? Popular with bust half enthusiast, this is the 1832 Large Letter reverse famous for the remarkable die crack under eagle\'s left wing. Thought by Overton to have been a flaw created in the production of the die since no example of this variety is known without this \"striking\" crack. (Heh, I \"crack\" myself up sometimes!)
And what a nice reverse it is!Ample, flashy luster for the grade softly covered by original, light golden grey toning.Strong strike with no weakness and full dentils. A couple of very minor ticks do very little to diminish the eye catching appeal of this reverse.
Obverse luster is more in-line with the XF40 grade with traces still present around the stars and date, and again under original golden grey surfaces.
The reverse die break does not quite reach the olive leaves and no trace ofthelater die crack across olive leaves to UNI indicating this example is not the slightly more common O-101a.
