1833 Letter To Morgantown (wv) From New Geneva - "you Must Pray" For Sale

1833 Letter To Morgantown (wv) From New Geneva -

My father, who was an American History professor collected old letters. He died three years ago, and I am slowly finding new homes for those old letters. Offered here is a letter sent March 11, 1833 to William F. Nicholson in Morgantown, Va. 1833 was before West Virginia had split off from Virginia, so I presume this letter was sent to what is today Morgantown, WV. The letter was written by "Mary" and sent from "New Geneva". Mary is apparently William's sister since she begin "Your last letter my beloved brother filled me with anxiety.." She goes on to urge him to pray and to "remember the words of our dying brother...'You must pray, you cannot do without it - you must pray if you can only say God be merciful to me'."
Later on she writes "Mama says you must get your boots mended and send a bill to Papa."
As a postscript Mary writes "I want you to take the little note at the top of your letter to Catherine B____". I assume that is why the top section of the first sheet of the letter has been torn off.
The letter does not include a stamp. Instead "Paid 6" is written in the corner where a stamp would normally appear.
