Poor condition on this old document which involves the sale of "a certain negro woman slave named Carrie (?) and her two children John & Lydia, said negro woman supposed to be 18 years of age. John about 18 month old & Lydia about 7 or 8 weeks"...Sale occurred the 16th of February 1835. Names withheld in this listing to protect the current families but the sale took place in Williamson County (Franklin) and was entered in Davidson County (Nashville) Tennessee. As can be seen in the scan the rag paper is heavily stained. What is not visible is a large separation in one of the folds (3/4 of document and a small tear at the bottom of the other fold. Sold as is.
