1839, Duke Of Wellington, Als, To Speaker Of House Of Commons For Sale
This item is a wonderful,original letter dated 1839, where the Duke of Wellington has written and signed a letter to the Speaker of the House of Commons, James Abercromby, regarding putting forth a roll in in front of the House.....signed hastily, Wellington. Letter is 6x9, folds, double sided, in overall excellent condition.
Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, (1 May 1769 – 14 September 1852), was a British soldier and statesman, a native of Ireland from the Anglo-Irish Ascendancy, and one of the leading military and political figures of the 19th century. He is often referred to as the "Duke of Wellington", even after his death, even though there have been subsequent Dukes of Wellington.
