1840 William Henry Harrison Us Presidential Campaign Log Cabin Clothing Button:
Two-piece very slightly convex gilded brass 1840 William Henry Harrison campaign (for U.S. President) log cabin clothing button: size: 21 mm (13/16ths of an inch in diameter). The front of the button has a plain border, a plain field, the raised and finely detailed image of a log cabin with a chimney (with a small amount of smoke) on the right as we look at the button,and a door to the right of center,a window to the left of the door. There is a cider barrel under the window, and tufts of grass under the image of the cabin. Backmark: "R&W ROBINSON " in depressed letters on a banner, with an eagle between the ends of the banner. The button has a sturdy shank. The button is listed asPC146A in Albert'sRecord of American Uniform and Historical Buttons, Bicentennial Edition. Tice dates the backmark to 1834-1848.
