1841 Letter Regarding War Of 1812 Pensions (amweg, Edwards) For Sale
This is a document from the files of Col. William S. Amweg, a pension
attorney who worked in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area 1849-1851. Amweg
specialized in procuring pensions, land warrants and other entitlements for
veterans of the Mexican War, the War of 1812 and the Revolutionary War.
This document is a short letter signed J.L. Edwards in the Pension Office
dated August 15, 1841 that accompanied a form and instructions to enable a
disabled soldier from the War of 1812 to present applications for pension. The
form and instructions were not included in Amweg's file, presumably because he
used them for a client.
