1843 United States presidential land grant for 160 acres in Chickasaw County, Mississippi, with the secretarial signature of our tenth President, John Tyler! Printed on vellum, measures 16x10, and includes the presidential seal. This land grant is in the name of Samuel McCreight.

Early presidents signed all land grants, but after the administration of President Andrew Jackson, all presidents used their secretaries to sign grants. President Tyler hired his sons, John Tyler Jr. and Robert Tyler, as his private secretaries and they did all or most of the signatures. United States history, presidential history, Mississippi state and local history. This 170-year-old document is in very good condition with minor wear. Winning buyer pays $5.00 S&H.
