DESCRIPTION: 1850\'s cased 1/6 plate daguerreotype portrait of a gent in a high collar, silk cravat and vest, waistcoat. He wears a goatee, and a fierce, stern expression. He looks to be a man of means--a professional. Barely visible is a pin on his cravat---that looks like the Masonic symbol. Hard to tell for sure.
The detail is excellent. Missing the cover of the case. I had it apart to clean the glass, which needed it. Intact with mat, preserver and orig. glass.
CONDITION: Some oxidation on dag--around mat opening. Missing cover to case. Mat has some bluish spots of oxidation. No other issues.
