London, Henry G. Bohn, 1852. Hardcover (6\" x 9\") bound in original half leather with marbled boards and matching marbled page edges and endpapers. Complete in two volumes. Library reinforcement covering original leather spine. Condition: VG. This book is from the rare book room of the college of holy names in Oakland, California. It has been well cared for and bears minimal library markings, consisting of a catalog number to spine, bookplate inside cover, very sparse, faint catalog markings in pencil on the title and copyright page, and library card pastedown inside rear cover. Covers show some rubbing and wear, particularly at edges. Leatherbound corners are fairly rubbed. Otherwise, this book is pristine: pages are bright, clean, and free of any underlining or marginalia. Absolutely no foxing whatsoever, all plates would be suitable for individual display, and all fifty two engravings (as well as text) are present as issued. Binding is extremely firm. A suitable copy of this scarce, illustrated edition of the works of Josephus, complete in two volumes.
