Beautiful book. Includes numerous fabulous engravings with tissue guards along withfacsimilesof manuscripts by the authors in their handwriting. I have only included a few engravings because of photo restrictions, but feel free to ask for more.
TheBinding is original tooled/ embossed gilt leather cover. The spine and covers have separated intact from the text block and could be reattached. The pages and engravings are in nice condition with some foxing and light discoloration. There is a split in the text binding about 1/3 of the way through and a section of the pages is nearly detaching. The rest of the book (and the first 1/3 section) is tightly bound and intact. The engravings appear to all have their tissue guards intact and are in very good condition. This beautiful book would be an excellent candidate for binding repair, as the pages, gilt edges, and fabulous engravings are all in very good condition, and the original cover could be reused as well.
