DESCRIPTION: A rare find!! This is an unpicked family photo album with 95 Civil War era CDVs and tintypes, including eight CDVs of Union soldiers in uniform and identified. This album came from the estate of the Woodard/Chamberlain family, a well to do clan from Cambridge, Massachusetts. Most of the photos have names hand written in pencil on the album pages. The penmanship is poor, but with a magnifying glass and some research on Google, I\'ve been able to identify some of the more important photos:

1) Soldier holding a sword and a kepi with crossed sword insignia, signed on the back of the photo, \"Your Friend, E. F. Randall, Co. K, 1st Mass Cavalry.\" Listed as both Edmond and Edward Randall. Some foxing.

2) Capt Frederick A Lull, 2nd Reg. Mass Heavy Artillery. Also a CDV of Mrs Lull.

3) Leroy Chamberlain, 23rd Reg. Mass Infantry, Private. Originally filed as Chamberlin, as spelled in the album.

4) Capt W. L. B. Robinson. I found a William L. B. Robinson, 60th Reg., Co G, listed on line as a private, but the fellow in the photo is in an officer\'s uniform with epaulets. Note the medal he\'s wearing.

5) There are three photos of Charles Woodard, Musician, 11th Reg. Mass. Infantry. In one shot he\'s holding a horn, in another he\'s seated next to a small table holding a kepi.

6) Another CDV, probably identified as \"Chas\" Woodard. The writing is sloppy and hard to read. He\'s in a fancy uniform jacket - possibly a military band uniform, if it is in fact Charles the musician.

Other highlights in this album:

7) At least three other CDVs of men who are not in uniform but are identified as members of GAR Post 30, which means they were Union army veterans. The poststill exists today as United American Veterans Post 30, 1 Cedar St., Cambridge. There are three shots of A. Otis Chamberlain, Quartermaster, Post 30.

8) Rev. Henry Hinckley, Pastor of the Baldwin Place Church in Boston, which became the Baldwin Place Home For Little Wanderers. In 1864 he founded the 1st Baptist Church of Winchester, NH. Also a CDV of his wife.

9) Carrie Griffin of Nashua, NH, Army Correspondent.

10) There is one fellow identified as a letter carrier and four others identified simply as carriers. One shows a carrier in uniform, and an A. Otis Chamberlain tintype shows him in the same uniform with a cap.

11) There is a hand colored CDV of Lady Liberty with a large American Flag.

12) A group CDV of the Boston Museum Theater Company. (If the buyer might be interested I also have a vintage 1850s Boston Museum Theatre poster that would make a very nice accompanying piece.)

13) A CDV of a young girl in a chair holding an open CDV album in her lap.

This album is loaded with good stuff. It\'s very rare to find one like this unpicked and with so many photos identified. The album itself is in poor condition, with both covers missing. The binding is still good, with all the pages intact. The photos are all in excellent condition. They\'ve been stored in this album since around the time of the Civil War, and they\'ve suffered no damage at all.
