21 October 1861, the Confederate, Rebel \"Government in Exile\" passed an Act, dated 5 November 1861, authorizing an issue of State bonds.
There was another issue called \"Requisition for Missouri Defence bonds\" issued in denominations of $20.00, $50.00, and $100.00.(Maybe to raise funds to pay the rebel troops). This note is the $20 example. Few were ever used as money and this very choice example stands out.
