Dear sister it is with great pleasure that I sit / down towrite you a few lines to let you / know that I am well at present and hopethese / few lines may find you the same. I received your / letter and was gladto gear from you. I don’t / have much to write this time. Yesterday was /(newgrass?) here it was rather dull? for me but still / they was considerable ?for some of the boys / they was some of the buys on at drunk? George? sergent?/ was drunk as he could be. I should like to have / their but will I think thatI am in better business / at the present time. I have got two letters fromJefferson / since ive been here. I write Enoch a letter but he / hasn’tanswered it yet. I should write to again/ until her answers it if that ?? you wanted me to / send you my likeness Icant send it to you till / after payday and when that will be it is hard totell / We was ? the other day for four months pay / but I don’t know when wewill get it. I wrote ? a letter / and ? one I got answers to both of them theytold / me about your ? Town ? it is snowing here today from it was back?
