They became illegal after U.S. Congress passed a law on April 2, 1864 prohibiting there use. Indian Head obverse with MILLIONS FOR CONTRACTORS. Full date/rim, with FORT LAFAYE (weak)on headband, good detail in headdress/hair/face. Reverse has NOT ONE CENT FOR THE WIDOWS within wreath. Starting at $.99 with NR.
