You are offerding on ONE item:
1867/1867 SHIELD NICKEL - NO RAYS
VERY GOOD 10(NGC)
FS-1301 / FLETCHER-23/ VP-003
Thisspecimen exhibits a very strong re-punched date,as evidenced by the significant, underlying remnants of a previously punched date - all four numerals are strongly repunched to the south. ThisIS a Cherrypicker's Guide Die Variety (Fivaz-Stanton #1301), and as it grows more popular and wellknown over time, it will hopefully become a "Red Book" variety someday! (Not too easy a varietyto find!!)
As time goes on withnumismatics, it seems theBEST investmentsdevelop within the "varieties"of acoinage series. Think about it - Just look at the most valuable/desirable coins you can think of within justthe following series: Lincoln 1c, Buffalo 5c, &Mercury 10c. Most people would think of the following coins as the best/toughest keys, and as a result, are at the top of most people's Want List: 1909-S VDB, 1922 Plain, 1955 & 1972 Doubled Dies; 1916 Doubled Die, 1918/7-D, 1937-D "3-Legged; " 1942/1 P&D - and what do they ALL have in common? They are ALL die varieties that were significant enough to be noticed by collectors, and ever since their discovery, have huge price jumps from their regular die-marriage counterparts. Clearly, itis the dievarieties that seem to gain the most overall incollector interest, and thenoften, in profit! This is not the rarest dievariety, but it is a sleeper right now in the sense thatit can be had forrelatively cheap, before a price/popularityboom - and good luck trying to predict when (and to what coins) that will happen!
Start grabbing tough to find coins like this onenow, before they are all tucked away!!
