These maps are from an 1870 Atlas of Worcester County, MA. It was published by F.W. Beers & Co. of New York in 1870. The maps are drawn from actual surveys by and under the direction of F.W. Beers assisted by Geo. P. Sanford and others. These maps are typically hand-colored and highly detailed, showing numerous buildings that are often identified by the name of the owner or proprietor. If you are looking for a particular name, feel free to ask. These single page maps measure 15 ½ by 12 ¾ inches. These are two of many maps of a disbound Worcester County atlas that I am selling on . Lancaster Commons was an area sandwiched between the current Still Hill Rd and Old Common Rd at the current location of the Lancaster Industrial School for Girls then called the State Industrial School for Girls.
