I bought this item from a man in Mississippi last year. He stated he had inherited it from his father and it had been kept in the family at least the last 50-60 years. That is all the history I have on this item.

Rare leather loop version of this scabbard.. It's very hard to find this variation from what I've read.

Has inspector's initials of L.L.Rstamped on rear of loop area.

Hasinitials of L.S.L.hand carved on rear followed by Company C. This was done a very, verylong time ago, rest assured. Even the style of the letters suggests it was done during initial period of use.
