You are offerding on a RARE and UNIQUE old personal identification tag / id tag / token exonumia once used by "C. C. BAKER" who was involved as a Union Soldier in the CIVIL WAR 1861-1865, a member of "GAR" Grand Army of the Republic, who ended up living in Weatherford, Texas.

I BELIEVE THIS RARE EARLY WEATHERFORD TEXAS IDENTIFICATION TAG....NOTE THAT IT HAS THE OFFICIAL G.A.R. CIVIL WAR VETERAN LOGO ON IT...BELIEVE (BY THE EARLY DIE STYLE) THAT THIS IS 1880 TO 1890 ERA.

Amazing this old tag has Civil War "Grand Army of Republic" pictorial on it....I suppose that there would be records of "CC BAKER" who would have likely served in the Union Army, and later in his life ended up in Texas.

I believe this is a rare, one of a kind id tag. Much more specific than being mass produced merchant token..a single EARLY tag issued to a "C. C. BAKER" in a small Texas town (weatherford is larger town today, but back in the 1880s was much smaller...only around 20000 people lived in entire county in 1890)

I know very little about this about this old TEXAS id tag, came out of collection...what I love about it, is the fancy old style, and has GRAND ARMY OF REPUBLIC (civil war veteran organization) pictorial

This is a very nice old id tag....I love that these old tags are essentially UNIQUE pcs of exonumia. In this case, a tag from a very small (back then) Texas town. this is an EARLY tag, note the shape and crudity....and looks like ti could be silver (sounds like silver when flipped on table top)

Personal id tag / token is white metal or silver, round in shape, about 25mm in size,and overallit displays verynicely.(please see pictures in gallery) Has not been cleaned
