Early1880s Large Waxed Angel, holding a Trumpet in one Hand.

Fabulous early waxed angel.

The body is of composition, and the entire angel is then covered with wax.

These are extremely difficult to find as most were stored in hot attics.

A real "No No" for a wax ornament.

Mohair blond wig on her head.

A small lead trumpet in one hand.

Spun glass wings, Dresden stars, and little strings to arrange the wings when hung on the tree.

White sating skirt, trimmed with lace.

Red satin ribbon around her shoulder to keep skirt in place.

A little metal hook inserted in back of angel so she may go on the tree.

Often hung by rubber bands so they would sway and seem to fly through the boughs.

6.50" and in very good shape.

She has one minor flaw... crack at elbow, but never broken as wax is still perfectly in place.

And who can hold this against an angel heralding the birth of Christ.

There is nothing wrong with this still angel. In fact, they are in very good shape. They are vintage, not reproductions. I guarantee that. I start all my sales at .99 cents as it is an sale and I just never cared when I went to live sale and the saleeer started very high, and then spent time backing down to get a offer.
