1885 - 1920 Die Cut 5 Holy Cards Guardia Scala Sancta Saint Leonard Port Maurice:
Up for sale is this set of five Italian Holy Cards. They are as follows:
The first one, N. S. Della Guardia has the year 1902 on the back. It is a die-cut card measuring 2 3/8" by 4 1/4". It has a few corner (point) bends.
The second one, Miracolosa Effigie Di Maria S.S. Bambina, has the year 1885 on the back. It measures 3" by 4 1/2". It is on lighter paper then the other Holy Cards with edge and corner wear. On the back is written "Say this prayer." There is also a small stain on the back.
The third one, S. Leonardo Da Porto Maurizio, has not date on the back but has a newer feel to it with a smoother surface. The printer (or publisher) is printed on the front: Stab A. Marzi, Roma. This card measures 3 1/8" by 4 7/8". The corners are bumped.
The fourth one, Scala Sancta, is another beautiful die-cut card that has the year 1908 on the back (this is the latest year in the last paragraph.) This card measures 2 5/8" by 4 5/8". Like the other older one, it is printed on slighter lighter paper stock. There is a small tear and bend to the bottom right-hand corner. There is a larger bend to the right-hand corner that you can see in stronger light.
The last one is a First Communion Card with the date August 22, 1920 on the back. This card measures 2 3/4" by 4 7/8". It has bumps to the corners.
Please note that I tweaked the contrast on the two cropped close-up pictures whereas the other pictures are "as scanned" at 300 DPI.These will be shipped in an acid free plastic sleeve inside of a rigid mailer.
(International customers please note: I have frequently had the shipping calculators for International Mail way undercharge with me having to pay the extra. As such, I do tend to estimate a lot higher now for international order. If the actual shipping cost turns out the be more than $3.00 less then I charged you, I will refund the difference.
