The Scarlet Book of Freemasonry is the book Masons do not want you to see! Written by prominent Freemason Moses W. Redding, this fantastic book contains numerous accounts of the secret torture methods used by the Roman Catholic Church against theFreemasons and Knights Templar; from hangings, to beatings, to stretching out people’s bodies until death! It profiles many kidnappings, assassinations, and murder plots with great insight on Masonic symbols, rituals, and the secrecy of the organization.
In the Preface, Redding states:
"Free Masonry being a benevolent institution, and entirely unsectarian, it is hardly credible that its votaries have for centuries been objects of a bitter persecution, and that large numbers of them have suffered death in defense of their principles, yet such is the case, as the Roman Catholic Church has relentlessly persecuted, tortured, and burnt then at the stake for the past six hundred years, and this persecution is still carried on, wherever popery has the power to do its bloody work.
The aim of the Author in this work is to present, in a convenient form, a connected and complete account of the persecutions and martyrdoms of Free Masons and Knights Templars by the Catholic Church; also to show the fraternity the nature and character of the sanguinary enemy Free Masonry has had, and still has, to deal with throughout the world.
The Information concerning the persecutions of Masons and Knights Templars has been collected from the most authentic works of the periods in which the persecutions took place, and from forced admissions of popish writers themselves. The life and philosophy of Pythagoras was gathered from authentic ancient works, and is complete and reliable."
The Second Part of the Scarlet Book of Freemasonry is on the work of Pythagoras. Pythagoras started a secret society called the Pythagorean brotherhood devoted to the study of mathematics. This had a great effect on future esoteric traditions, namely Rosicrucianism and Freemasonry, both of which were occult groups dedicated to the study of mathematics and both of which claimed to have evolved out of the Pythagorean brotherhood. In addition, the second part of the book includes ancient Masonry in regards to the Ruins in Mexico and the Obelisks and symbols found in Egypt.
Throughout, the Scarlet Book of Freemasonry contains numerous black and white and color illustrations including a fold-out of Pythagoras. As a whole, it is a most fascinating work into the darker history of Freemasonry and would make an excellent addition to a Masonic Library.
