1890 Bipolar Electric Motor * Edison Fan & Dynamo Era * Works For Sale
Make sure to check out all of my sales after you've looked at this one. I'm listing an eclectic assortment of hard-to-find technological, musical and mechanical antiques, and I suspect there will be something of interest to almost everyone. Here's an early electric bipolar motor in excellent original condition throughout. The windings are still continuous, and the motor appears to be operational, which is to say the armature reacts in the field when a small amount of DC voltage is applied to the binding post nuts (I tried 6 volts). That said, the motor will need to be disassembled and lubricated in order for it to run without stalling or getting hung up, which is what I've encountered when testing it. Black enamel finish is in excellent original condition, and there is no damage to the cast iron frame or wood base. Brass parts and windings are all all clean and in excellent original condition. The motor measures approximately 6" wide by 4" deep by 3" high and weighs approximately 4 lb. Shipping weight, properly packed, will be about 7 lb.That's about it. I will pack it carefully and properly. sale participants with no prior response history should also contact me before placing a offer. Buyer prepays and includes shipping. Paypal okay.
