1890s Confederate Flags / Civil War Sterling Silver & Enamel Souvenir Spoon For Sale
Fantastic and very rare, 1890’s, Sterling Silver and enamel, Civil War / Confederate Flag / Confederate Pyramid Souvenir Spoon.
This Beautiful, Confederate States of America Souvenir Spoon measures approx. 4" long. The handle is cast with images of a pair of crossed Confederate Flags. Those Flags are beautifully enameled in white, red and blue and include the Confederate Battle Flag and the Second Pattern Flag of the CSA - known as "The Stainless Banner". The bowl of the Spoon features an image of the monument known as the "Confederate Pyramid" located at Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, Virginia. This simply amazing monument was erected as a memorial to the more than 18,000 confederate soldiers who died in The Battle of Gettysburg that are buried nearby. Text in the bowl reads “1861-1665” and “C.S.A.”. The back of the spoon is marked "Sterling" and carries the Hallmark of the manufacturer - The Gorham Manufacturing Co. of Providence, Rhode Island.
This very rare and very beautiful, Sterling Silver Civil War / Confederate Flag Enamel Handle Souvenir Spoon is in excellent condition - crisp and beautiful - strongly cast with no significant wear even to the highest spots. There is no chipping to the enamel although there is some very small surface rubs to the white of the Stainless Banner. We have not cleaned the spoon but offer it here in "as found" condition with light age patina (the spoon will certainly shine up beautifully if the buyer wishes to do so).

Important Notes about Shipping Charges:
The amount quoted for Shipping & Handling is calculated by and is equal to the EXACT amount charged by the Post Office plus a $1.00 "packing fee" - the $1.00 fee is our only compensation for the virgin packing materials we use on all of our professionally packaged boxes as well as our cost for the salaried help that does most of our packing - as I am sure you can see, we make NO profit on the Shipping charges and, in fact, our costs are usually greater than the $1.00 fee. Please contact us if there are any issues regarding the cost of shipping.
