Red Robed Father Christmas carring snow covered tree, and lots of Presents

Large German Chromolithograph from the very early 1890s, or earlier.

Red Robed Father Christmas (not St. Nicholas) as that would have offended the Germans.

He has a reich red fur coat, trimmed with brown fur.

Wonderful fur cape, along with a fur cap.

He is holding a small live tree, in wooden stand, and tree is covered with snow.

He is holding a sack of toys, overfilling, with many of them in open view.

Another interesting point is the branch decoated with tiny paper flags.

As if he is the Father Christmas, or gift-bearer of all nationalities.

4.00by 9.75" and in very good condition.

These are from our personal collection, started over 45 years ago, and now that we are on in age (old), we feel it is time to pass theseon to new care-takers who will treasure them and carry them into the next generations. Some were used in books, some in articles, and some for museum exhibtions. They have been stored in a surveyor's chest, away from the light, and also in a totally smoke free environment as a cigarette has not ever been smoked in our home.
