1890's Lillie Langtry Inscribed Personal Business Card / Free Admission Ticket For Sale
Exceptionally rare and wonderful, 1890's Inscribed Personal Calling Card of famous stage actress Lillie Langtry being a Pass for Free Admission to a performance at the globe Theater in Boston, Massachusetts.
This fantastic Calling Card / Boston Theater Show Pass measures approx. 3 7/8" by 2 1/4" and features printed text that reads simply "Mrs. Langtry". The lovely Lillie Langtry has covered the majority of the blank space on this fantastic Calling Card with hand written text that reads "Admit bearer & friend & do the best in house / Globe Theater Boston".
This wonderful Calling card itself is a very rare and highly desirable piece of Theatrical memorabilia - to have it used by Lillie Langtry as a "Complimentary Ticket" to a performance in which she appeared make it a most unusual and wonderful item.
We have found no other examples of 19th century "Complimentary Passes" issued by Langtry that have been offered for sale in the past 10+ years. We believe that the Calling Card / Complimentary Pass offered here is exceptionally rare as we would guess that, in most cases, the recipient of such a Pass would have surrendered it upon admission to the Show!!
