You get the BEST from the BUDGIE
A gracious thank you to the experts on the vintage needlework discussion board
Victorian era Chair Tidy – I had never heard that term, so you may also want the terms chair doily, chair cover, antimacassar –
Could be framed as a great primitive sampler piece of needlework.
This piece dates to the late 1800s –
Back view is below -
I have a Set, but they am saleing them separately –Igladly combine wins to save you on shipping
This sale is for the antique House HOME with fencing - reminds me of the later "HOME SWEET HOME" samplers or tapestry without the literal statement
Material is a heavy weave – embroidery done in Red thread cross stitch
The Red HOME sweet house piece measures approx 9 3/8ths by 10 3/4ths not counting the fringe. The fringe is approx 3 inches long.
(In a separate sale )The red STAG or Deer piece is a tiny bit larger (Stag / Deer piece previously sold at sale)
Condition: I have not attempted to clean. I took photos of the front and the back as well as a close up of the stitching. This house piece does show either a pencil or possibly a pen mark in the bottom lefthand corner – please see photos. A very interesting antique needlework piece.
Please note: Regarding vintage items - I may sell something like new, but it will NEVER be New. I will do my best to give measurements. Please read and measure yourself before offerding.
Also I cannot guarantee that items have lived a pet free, smoke free, or perfume free life. If you are really sensitive to any of those things, please buy from a seller that has only new items.
