The Argosy magazine was the British spin off of the American pulp periodical the Golden Argosy, aimed at the boys adventure market. It was edited by Mrs Ellen Wood, pen name Mrs. Henry Wood, one of the best selling authors of the second half of the nineteenth-century, and her son Charles, the editor of this edition.

CONDITION

In quarter calf bindings. Externally, generally smart, slightly rubbed in places. One hinge strained but holding firm. Internally, firmly bound. Lovely and bright, and very clean with just the odd spot or mark. Overall: VERY GOOD.
