1893 WORLD'S COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION CHICAGO UNCIRCULATED ABRAHAM LINCOLN TICKET. This listing is for an ORIGINAL, UNCIRCULATED, 1893 World's Columbian Exposition Chicago Abraham Lincoln ticket. This portrait ticket features an oval image of Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States, led the United States through the Civil War crisis, and his efforts toward the abolition of slavery included issuing his Emancipation Proclamation in 1863, encouraging the border states to outlaw slavery, and helping push through Congress the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which finally freed all the slaves nationwide in December 1865. This ticket is numbered 950644; Admit the Bearer, 1st May to 30th Oct. 1893. This ticket was kept in a scrapbook along with the others I have listed. It is uncirculated, there are 2 small tabs of clear tape on the back (how it was attached to page of scrapbook). I have not tried to remove the tape (I have no experience in this area and would not want to risk damage, perhaps someone knows a safe way to remove the tape.) The ticket images are crisp and clear, NO rips, tears, stains, creases, wear, etc. The ticket measures approx. 3-3/4" BY 2-1/4".
