1893 World's Fair Admin. Biulding Cast Iron Bank

This is listed in Andy Moore's bank book. The reference number is 1072. The back of the bank has the words "World's Fair Adm. Bldg. 1893". The front has a combination door and Moore's bank book says the combination is 513. I tried it and it did not open the combination. Since the dial only goes up to 12, I figure that it is something like left to 5 right to 1 left to 3. But that is just a guess. The original screw is present on the backside. It is a very scarce bank and sells fairly high dollar. Moore list it at $1500 to $2000. It is rated as a "D" bank. There is some rust but there is lots of original paint also. There are no cracks or breaks to the cast iron. It is an old scrarce bank that does not come up for sale very often. Check out the high resolution pictures for details.

The World's Columbian Exposition (the official shortened name for the World's Fair: Columbian Exposition, also known as The Chicago World's Fair) was a World's Fair held in Chicago in 1893 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus's arrival in the New World in 1492.
