1896 Antique Illustrated Miniature Bible Book ~ David Bryce & Son ~ 1 3/4" Tall
Rare 1896 First Edition miniature Bible published by David Bryce & Son, Glasgow, Scotland. Red yapped leather binding with the title "Holy Bible" in gilt on the spine. Features a tiny removable matching leather bound magnifying glass housed in a small pocket on the inside front cover. Frontispiece illustration and several line illustrations throughout by C. B. Birch, A. R. A. All edges gilt. Yellow endpapers. A wee, 1 3/4" high volume. The text is a miniaturized facsimile of the Oxford nonpareil 16mo. edition of the King James Bible and includes both the Old and New Testaments. License leaf on the verso of the title page dated 1895. Printed on thin Oxford India paper. Also known as the "Mite Bible." An attractive and scarce little Victorian gem. Welsh 559, Bondy pp.108

Condition: Very good condition. Covers in beautiful shape, front cover a tiny bit faded. Tight binding. Gilt edges bright. All pages present and solidly intact. Interior pages fresh and clean. Tiny chip to bottom right front free endpaper. Minor staining to rear free endpaper. A rare find in any condition. Remarkably preserved for this 110+ year old tiny tome.
