1896 William Mckinley Large Size Tin Litho Presidential Campaign Serving Tray:
Rare and very attractive, 1896 (or 1900), Tin Lithograph Tray depicting President (or Presidential Candidate) William McKinley. This fantastic, large oval tray measures approx. 13 1/4” by 16 1/4” and features a bust portrait of McKinley with a facsimile signature beneath the image. The portrait is beautifully chromolithographed on the tin tray and although it is unsigned by the manufacturer but is most likely a Meek, Shonk, or Kaufman and Strauss piece. We are not sure if this was produced for the 1896 or 1900 presidential campaign but it was certainly produced for one or the other.
This outstanding William McKinley, Chromolithograph on Tin Campaign Tray is in very good condition. The colors are bright and vibrant, and there is no significant wear or damage of any kind. There are, however, two small nail holes in the raised rim at 3 and 9 o'clock. There are two small surface scuffs at the center of McKinley’s tie as well as a number of other very small and unobtrusive, scattered surface blemishes and some tiny nicks on the outer rolled edge, but overall this is a well preserved example of this rare McKinley Tray.
A rare and very attractive William McKinley Tin Lithograph Presidential Campaign Serving Tray and a fantastic addition to any collection!!!
