1898 dated Sterling Silver 1 1/2\" State of Montana Rough Riders Medal. Front has State of Montana state seal and the words, \" First Army Corps Spanish American War 1898 \" Reverse has seated Victory with an eagle giving a wreath to a SAW soldier and reads, \" Presented by the State of Montana to Montana Rough Riders\". The Sterling mark is barely seen but present on the side. I was told the edges were filed and that a hallmark should be present but that is not seen. Nice, rare medal. thanks for the help from California !!
