18th century Georgian Toleware spice box. c1795

A marvellous toleware spice box complete with all segment boxes in two layers including a nutmeg grater /container.

Upper layer.
Central lifting column is a receptacle for a lidded nutmeg grater / container.
5 lift out segment containers marked: Cloves, Ginger, Allspice, Nutmeg, Mace.

Lower layer.
5 lift out segment containers marked: White Pepper, Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Large Pepper, Cayenne

Dimensions: 17cms diameter x 17cms high.
Weight: 1.25kgs

Condition: The lid hasp is missing the catch pin. The lacquer id missing from much of the outer. All containers have good hinges and flip over catches. The Cloves container has a replacement strip that holds the suspension ring. Top handle is good as is lid hinge. Overall this is in pretty remarkable condition considering its age.
