IMPORTANT offerDING AND PAYMENT INFORMATION: IF YOU PLAN TO offer ON THIS ITEM AND ARE THE HIGH buyer I WOULD LIKE TO ASK THAT YOU DO NOT PAY ME UNTIL YOU RECEIVE MY INVOICE NOT THE INVOICE THAT IS GENERATED IMMEDIATELY AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE SALE BY . now has rules that all sellers MUST ship items for which they have been paid within one business day without exception. Those who follow my sales and have bought from me over the years know that I have always had a policy of shipping within 24 hours of a sale (see my response), however, there are times when I am out of town unexpectedly for a house call, an sale or an estate call and it simply is not possible to get to the post office in time. Also, if you find that there is more than one item you are interested in offerding on over a given time period and would like to take advantage of combined shipping, please again, DO NOT pay me until the last of those items you're watching has finished. I will then send you an invoice with an adjusted shipping fee which saves on postage.. I never charge a "handling fee". I would rather wait a few days on a payment and extend you the advantage of lower shipping fees than to be paid immediately - not ship - and then be scored negatively by for not shipping soon enough.Offered in this sale is a wonderful early German porcelain covered cup and socketed saucer that I believe was made by Hoechst in the 18th century or perhaps Samson in the 19th century. It is marked on the underside of the base with a gold pinwheel within a circle mark which you can see illustrated in the 2nd and 8th images. I am told that this type of cup would have been used to serve a hot drink. The covered cup measures 5 5/8" to the top of the lid x 3 5/8" in diameter across the top tapering to 2 3/4" across the base. The saucer measures roughly 6 3/8" in diameter x 1 3/4" deep. The quality is outstanding. It has an applied flower on the cover and flowers on either side of the top of the handle. The front of the cup has a scene depicting two gentlemen at the base of some steps who appear to be greeting a lady. The colors are just great. Be sure to enlarge and zoom each of the images for a close up view of the decoration. The condition is excellent. There are no chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines or restoration. In addition, there is almost no wear to the original gold gilt. Please feel free to email with any questions. I always guarantee everything that I sell to be as described. This set is being sold WITHOUT A RESERVE as long as there is an opening offer. High buyer to pay $8.00 shipping/ including insurance - inside the United States. The last three images illustrate other items that I have or will be listing on including a set of antique David Andersen silver enamel open salt dishes with spoons, several unique one of a kind hand made mixed wood and mineral boxes by Stephen Rapp Sr, 20+ pieces of Doulton series ware and more than fifty pieces of American and Italian studio art glass including 30+ perfume bottles. You are only offerding on the covered cup and socketed saucer in this sale.
