I am listing 8 very rare Royal Doulton Gibson Girl series ware plates.They are 8of twelve portraits printed in sepiaand white fromillustrations by the famous American illustrator Charles Dana Gibson. They are quite rare and I was only able to collect 8 of the 12....Each one bearshis facsimile signature andframed by a border of blue hearts and lovers\' knots.These are superb periodDoulton plates from a very collectable series and in excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restorations. Some of them do have overall crazing, though nothing to detract and really only noticed on close scrutiny....this will be noted in the individual listingsRoyal Doulton backstamp with Copyright 1899by Life Publishing Co. Diameter 23.5cm (9.25in) is present on each plate, although it has been rather difficult to photograph them.

Royal Doulton, a classic English name in tableware and ceramics with a pedigree dating back to 1815, was granted the Royal warrant in 1901 by King Edward VII. Royal Doulton launched its definitive HN Series of Pretty Lady figurines in 1913, and these collectables increased in popularity exponentially, driving the move into collectable figurines by 1939. In 2005, this historic name became part of the Waterford Wedgwood group. Today, Royal Doulton is a world-class brand in quintessential British tableware, collectable figurines, crystal, glass and giftware.
