1900 Honolulu H.i. Hawaii "w.c. Peacock & Co" Wine Liquor Merchant Amber Whiskey For Sale
You are offerding on a BEAUTIFUL..TO ME IT LOOKS "DARK RED AMBER" EMBOSSEDAntique and LARGE (ABOUT 11" TALL) bottle issued by "RW. C. PEACOCK & CO WINE & LIQUOR MERCHANTS" which was used in old HONOLULU, H.I. (HAWAIIAN ISLANDS)
This is an AMAZING old bottle. Always reluctant to even put something this beautiful on ...because often it is hard to tell HOW NICE an old bottle is unless you hold it in your hand, hold it up to the sun, etc....THIS IS A BEAUTY....and hopefully you can tell that from pictures in gallery. COLOR (TO ME) SEEMS LIKE A REDDISH AMBER (please see gallery)
The original owner of this old whiskey bottle chose to "highlight" the letters with a white paint. This was and is an "old school" practice to really highlight and show off the embossing. This paint is easilyremovable...but I have left it on...the embossing is very strong, and I like the way it looks.
Bottle is spectacular color...has beautiful glass. Not sure exact age, as I have an older Hawaii bottle book (elliot and gould) and it seems to closest resemble catalog #736 in characteristics...but could also be #738...but not sure what "vent dots" are??
This came out of a collection of bottles. It was the only Hawaii whiskey. This definitely is Hawaii Territorial era.
I have inspected this bottle, seems really nice..glass is very nice, embossing is crisp, (see gallery)...Can find no cracks, chips, or damage....THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL BOTTLE !!...as mentioned, has highlighted white embossing, which a person could easily remove.
The bottle is what I would call a DARK REDDISH AMBER color glass, stands about 11" tall...and it is a very nice specimen...THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL BOTTLE... the GLASS IS GREAT.This has great color, crisp embossing and I believe this is a tough one to find.
Gallery pictures should show you all you need to know, took pictures from many angles.
AMAZING antique DARK REDDISH AMBER "W. C. PEACOCK & CO WINE & LIQUOR MERCHANTS" bottle..which just displays beautifully....used in old HONOLULU, H.I. (HAWAIIAN ISLANDS, TERRITORY OF HAWAII)
