this circa 1900 silver covered butter dish with cobalt glass liner. Openwork body design in a Rococo style with birds and urns. Bird form handles. Full figural cow form finial. Weight of silver is 10.9 troy ounces. It is likley 800 purity silver. Body measures 4-1/2 inches diameter. It is 7-1/4 inches handle to handle. Height to finial is approx. 4-1/4 inches.No monograms. Hallmarks on bottom are pseudo Hanau Germany marks- a "G" with crown and a cross. Possibly for silversmith Wolf & Knell. No damages, losses or repairs. Cover has a little overall scuffing and scratching. No dents.
