A little bit of history: The now famous, Royal Doulton Pottery was first established by John Doulton in 1793. In his early 20s, John Doulton worked at what is said to be the first commercial English pottery (Fulham Manufacturing Co). Until his passing in 1858, John Doulton had great success in the little pottery he had established in Lambeth, Stoke-On-Trent. Over the following 100 years, the pottery evolved, grew, relocated, and survived all of the civil and world wars to become popular for both everyday consumers to royalty. After being around for around 230 years, it is no wonder Doulton pieces are both timeless with many being invaluable.
