1900s Fernand Martin "the Oriental Sentry" French Tin Wind Up Toy For Sale

This is an extremely rare antique toy made by Fernand Martin in 1902 called "La Sentinelle Orientale" or "The Oriental Sentry". Although this model (as many others by Martin) was never stamped with the F.M. trademark, it can be found on page 114 of the book by Frederic Marchand called "TheHistory of Martin Toys" (see the photo before last in this listing or a picture of the page in the book). This toyis in excellent original condition and works well when wound with a back and forth motion of the hips. I am not sure of the value of this toy and I am therefore listing it without reserve.
