Fantastic original, antique image of early Montana, train history and Yellowstone National Park.I had 2 of these available. The first one had an inscription that read on reverse, "Northern Pacific Railway excursion train at Gardiner Montana entrance to Yellowstone national park. Probably taken about 1905. J.J. Kellum, Engineer lower right with his sister, Rosa next to him. Probably Federal Govt. Officials on platform. "
This photo has the abbreviated version shown in the last listing image.
This scene has so much going on besides band and officials. Female in photo has a very large hat, so the park ranger behind her must peek around it. Great image of engineer clothes. Beautiful image oftrain band in foreground of caboose with instruments in full view.
Large 4 3/4x6 3/4 matted photo taken by Berry Portraits and Views, Gardiner, Montana. Matte measures 7x9". Photo is much clearer and crisper than image represents.
Part of a larger estate of items from c1900-1920representing the Northwest, Yellowstone & Montana.
Condition: Very Good- all intact no rips, or tears to photo. Some edgewear to matte and some light stains to matte.Matte is ever so slightly curled.
Please see my other listings for photographs from the Northwest and vintage paper.
