1910, B And R Aviation Company, Letter Re: Curtiss Biplane..lewis Strang Flyer:
This item is a wonderful, item dated 1910, where H.G.Regan of the B and R Aviation Manufacturing Company would like to demo a Curtiss Biplane and could have famed automobile driver Lewis Strang as the pilot....signed at bottom by H.G.Regan. Letter is 8x11, overall very good condition.
Lewis Strang (August 1884 – July 20, 1911) was an American racecar driver. In 1910 a very small newspaper reported that dirver Lewis Strang had turned aviator. This was not unusual as many of the early race drivers had a fascination with airplanes. He was killed in a testing accident while driving 5 miles an hour, becoming the first Indianapolis 500 participant to die.
