This is an EXTREMELY RARE token from a VERY TOUGH desert token town. The historic town of PARKER is located in southwestern Arizona...on the Colorado River near the California border and DIRECTLY ACROSS THE COLORADO RIVER FROM LITTLE TOWN OF "EARP" CALIFORNIA (he lived with Josie near this town named after him) Parker is between Fort Mohave and Ehrenburg (Arizona side of river) and Needles and Blythe (California side of river)
This is as rare as it gets for Arizona tokens.....a true R-10 (definition of R-10: 1-2 specimens known)....with tokens THIS RARE, you might only see one come available once in awhile..that is why they are just hard to price...its just TRYING TO FIND ONE FOR YOUR COLLECTION (I think I heard walmart is sold out of this one...just joking)
This is a RARE token to find, and the very collectible "J" counterstamp variety. PARKER IS A FLAT OUT TOUGH TOWN TO FIND TOKENS FROM. Also note that this token has los angeles rubber stamp maker marks.
If you look in the fine ARIZONA token book (Spooner) this token is listed under PARKER as catalog PAR-150.1, and as mentioned a true R-10 (about impossible to find) As mentioned with rare tokens, often it is impossible to "price" some of these tokens...the problem is always FINDING ONE).
Trade token is brass, round, about 24mm in diameter (quarter sized), and it displays nicely. (please see pictures in gallery) Token is in very nice condition, looks great in person....natural patina intact, has not been cleaned
Gallery pictures should show you all you need to know.
EXTREMEMLY RARE old token..from a rare token town, and a token you just NEVER see, a documented R-10......once used at the "D & D POOL HALL" business located in the desert and Colorado River town of PARKER Arizona.
A very low reserve (under book price) for R-10 PARKER token, this is a great pc from a tough town.
Thanks so much for looking....collect and invest inhistory!!!!! Tangible assets are always the best ones.
